ACCESS Multiscreen Solutions meet Content Industry’s Next Gen Security Requirements through Hardened Chip Readiness

Oberhausen, Germany, January 5th, 2015ACCESS CO., LTD, a global provider of advanced software technologies to the mobile, beyond-PC and digital TV markets, today announced that its multiscreen management platform ACCESS Twine™ and media sharing technology component NetFront™ Living Connect 3.1 are now pre-integrated and ready to work with next generation CE device chips deploying hardened secure chipsets. The combined solution adds new deployment options and an extended architecture to split functional components into secure and unsecured areas of next generation chipsets.

Discussing the importance of content security, Dr Neale Foster, COO and VP Global Sales TV, ACCESS Europe, said: “Clearly, security is incredibly important to content companies and operators. There are very compelling reasons why these companies want to provide multiscreen access: it reduces the likelihood of consumer accessing content illegally, as well as consumer churn from services and can increase ARPUs. But, all of this can only happen if content companies believe that multiscreen distribution is highly secure.”

Visitors to the ACCESS demo suite at the Bellagio Hotel during 2015 International CES (January 6th – 9th, Las Vegas) will be able to see how its multimedia solutions can be leveraged on security hardened chip architectures.

“Providing ‘studio confident’ security is a top priority for ACCESS. By integrating support for secured chip architectures reinforcing the secure integration of Conditional Access and Digital Rights Management (DRM) solutions as well as DTCP-IP, we ensure that our customers can securely monetize multiscreen services. Security was also a key driver behind the development of our multiscreen solution ACCESS Twine, which enables operators to support multiple DRMs, one of their largest technological hurdles when launching multiscreen service. The support for hardened chip solutions is our latest development in providing operators and CE device manufacturers with ‘studio confident’ multiscreen solutions,” concluded Foster.
