Amino Selects ACCESS Multiscreen Solution to Securely Extend TV Ecosystems to all Consumer Devices

London, March 11, 2014 − ACCESS CO., LTD, a global provider of advanced software technologies to the mobile, beyond-PC and digital TV markets, and Amino, leaders in IPTV, today announced that Amino has selected the ACCESS NetFront™ Living Connect DLNA Technology Component to power multiscreen media-sharing across its device portfolio. The first public demonstration of the multiscreen integration will be Amino set-top boxes running NetFront Living Connect at TV Connect (18-20 March), Olympia, London (ACCESS stand 93, Amino stand 105).

“The way we watch TV is evolving to include content from a wide variety of sources – including live linear, OTT, catch-up, nPVR, local PVR, main-screen, second-screen, tablet, smartphone, companion screens with complimentary content, “ says Amino CEO Donald McGarva. “The value-add for operators in this world of multi-screen devices is to provide support for secure sharing of studio approved, premium content within the home network.”

“The ACCESS secure DLNA implementation provides a standards-based solution interoperable with Verimatrix CAS and PlayReady DRM to deliver this secure environment. It enables our middleware partners to utilise our industry proven Aminet software and developer toolkit, to offer operators a secure solution for discovery and sharing of premium content between the Amino Live Advanced Media Platform and consumers’ connected devices,” concluded McGarva.

NetFront Living Connect
This solution is a market-leading Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) Technology Component™ solution that enables Pay TV operators and device manufacturers to quickly and efficiently implement multi-room and multiscreen services. NetFront Living Connect can be deployed on set-top boxes, digital TVs, home gateways, smart phones, tablets, digital cameras, network attached storage (NAS) boxes and more.

NetFront Living Connect is packed with features that ensure that ACCESS can provide device manufacturers, content providers and ultimately end-users with services that provide comprehensive support for even the very latest DLNA standards such as the new CVP-2 guidelines.

“The joint ACCESS and Amino multiscreen demonstrations at TV Connect show how broadcasters can deploy more powerful multiscreen applications throughout the home and beyond,” said Dr. Neale Foster, VP Global Sales TV, ACCESS Europe. “Support for standards-based and secure multiscreen solutions fills the missing-link in the multiscreen security chain. Our joint solution enables TV operators to build on their strong existing infrastructure base and content relationships to provide incredibly compelling multiscreen offerings.”
